CONGRATULATIONS to Captain Jay Sheffer for receiving the Dave “MAC” McElroy Hero Award. The award was part of the Ariel Foundation Park Freedom Concert event to honor and celebrate Knox County first responders and veterans.
Capt. Sheffer was recognized for his work as an instructor, directing the college internship program, managing marine patrol operations, and coordinating boater safety education classes. He is one of the KCSO deputies that conducts active threat training and he is a member of the Knox County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
