June 24
A victim/complainant called to report an inactive domestic violence incident. Deputies to the victim/complainant’s location. The victim/complainant advised that there was a verbal and physical altercation between her and her live-in boyfriend. She advised that the male half left the residence and went to his parent’s residence. The victim/complainant wrote a statement and photographs were taken of her person. Deputies made contact with the male half. A statement form was collected and photographs were taken of his person. A report was completed to be sent to the City Law Director for review.

Deputies assisted probation officers with a transport to the Knox County Jail on their behalf. Deputies also collected a white crystal like substance that was turned over to evidence for testing.

During the course of a crash investigation, it was learned the suspect assaulted his younger brother and uncle. The suspect fled into the woods upon the arrival of law enforcement. The victims have visible injuries but declined prosecution. Pictures were taken and a copy of the report is being sent to the City Law Director for review.

June 25
A complainant reported that the suspect was threatening her over an eviction process.

A complainant reported that sometime in the last few days person(s) unknown entered his vehicle and removed an item.

A complainant reported a disturbance, and people at his house that he did not want there. The people were gone by the time deputies arrived, and all parties were warned on their conduct.

June 26
Deputies were dispatched to Duff Street in Gambier on a possible suspicious vehicle with an individual inside sleeping. Kenyon College Campus Safety called in stating that they had located an individual passed out inside a vehicle and appeared to be under the influence of something. Deputies arrived on scene and proceeded to have the individual attempt to perform Standard Field Sobriety Test. Deputies then placed the individual, Joseph T. Duffey, under arrest for OVI and Possession of Marijuana and transported the individual to the Knox County Jail.

June 27
A complainant advised that unknown persons had trashed the interior of their empty home. Pictures were taken of the home and a statement was collected.
