Coyote Sightings

Winter is breeding season for coyotes. We have been getting calls regarding seeing coyotes during the day and that behavior for this time of year is normal. Coyotes are re-establishing their pair bonds now and begin looking for a good place to raise their pups when they arrive in spring.
If you do cross paths with a coyote, use the SMART Method:
Stop – stop moving
Make yourself big – wave arms and fists
Announce – speak forcefully and loudly… “Go away! Get out!”
Repeat – do this several times until the coyote is out of sight
Tell – tell others in the area
