Appeals Court Upholds Sarge Murder Conviction

In a decision handed down Thursday, the Fifth District Court of Appeals affirmed Caleb Sarge’s April 2021 convictions for murder and tampering with evidence. The appeals court agreed that prosecutors provided sufficient evidence to disprove Sarge’s self-defense claims at trial. Prosecutor McConville argued the case on behalf of the State.
Sarge is currently serving a term of 21 years to life in prison for the murder of John Serio. His first parole hearing is scheduled for October 2040.
