December 3
Unit 1 was making a turn onto Lower Green Valley Road when Unit 2 struck Unit 1.

Unit 1 was traveling south on Old Mansfield Road when they exited the roadway on the west side going into the ditch. Unit 1’s front then come to a stop facing the roadway and the rear struck a fence.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic infraction. The vehicle then fled from the OSHP trooper. OSHP requested assistance from the Knox County Sheriffs Office. The suspect, Samuel A. Cole, was apprehended and taken to the Knox County Jail by the OSHP.

December 4
A deputy received a dispatched call that the complainant wanted to report a shotgun stolen from his residence.

Unit 1 was traveling eastbound on Old Delaware Road near Liberty Chapel Road and struck a deer in the roadway.

A complainant reported an injured deer, and that she would like a slip for the carcass. A deputy dispatched the injured deer and issued her a slip for the carcass.

A complainant called the Sheriff’s Office to report an attempted fraud scam. A report was taken.

A complainant called to report tools missing from the trunk of his car. They advised the car was parked at a business in the 9000 block of Columbus Road when the tools were stolen. A report was taken and a statement was collected.

A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle for an equipment violation. A passenger of the vehicle, Earl Shoults, was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of Knox County. Earl was transported to the Knox County Jail and the driver was given a written warning of the equipment violation.

December 5
While following behind a red Volkswagen on Eastern Star Road, approaching New Gambier Road, a deputy observed a red Volkswagen fail to stop for the stop sign at the intersection and turn right onto New Gambier Road. A traffic stop was initiated. The driver of the vehicle was issued a citation for disobeying a traffic control device.

A complainant advised her nephew used her vehicle without asking and she discovered there was an unauthorized charge on her debit card as well.

A complainant called the Sheriff’s Office to report that the victim was manic depressed and suicidal.

Deputies were dispatched to Rescare in Centerburg on a disturbance involving a resident having a mental health emergency at the facility. Deputies were able to convince the individual to voluntarily go to the hospital to speak to a Behavioral Health Representative. Information was gathered and a report was written.

Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Coshocton Road in Mount Vernon, Ohio on a domestic violence incident. Deputies arrived on the scene and spoke with both involved parties. Deputies collected verbal and written statements as well as collected photographs for evidence. Deputies arrested a female, Francisca C. Maniace-Jacquet, charging her with domestic violence and transported her to the Knox County Jail. The male individual stayed at the residence with their 18-month-old and 6-year-old child. Deputies conducted a LAP assessment for the male half and cleared the scene.

Deputies were dispatched to the 13000 block of Fredericktown Amity Road for a vehicle accident. The vehicle left the scene prior to their arrival, but the driver and vehicle were located at a residence in Fredericktown. Tate K. Swihart, Fredericktown, was arrested for operating a vehicle intoxicated, and underage consumption.
