BFEC Announces Newest Addition – Hall Farm

The BFEC is pleased to announce that the Hall Farm, the newest addition to the property, is now open for winter access (mid-November through mid-April).
Hall Farm is divided by New Gambier Road; the area north of the road has a trail called Hall Homestead, and the area south of the road has a trail called Hickory Ridge.
The property can be accessed by car from New Gambier Road, or by hiking in from our existing north trail system, specifically from the Bishop’s Backbone trail. If accessing from New Gambier Road, please look for parking signs and park in designated spots only. If accessing from our existing trail system, there are multiple options for hiking in. Find the northern-most portion of the Bishop’s Backbone trail and look for a sign indicating the connector trail that will take you to Hickory Ridge Trail. Here is the link to our existing map that shows the Bishops Backbone trail: https://www.kenyon.edu/…/trail-guide-one-sheet-2020.pdf.
We are working on an updated map that will include the Hall Farm trails, but in the meantime, the map here (last photo) will give you a sense of the property and where the new trails are. The loop at the top is Hall Homestead trail and the loop at the bottom is Hickory Ridge. All areas highlighted in bright green are BFEC.
