Governor DeWine Signs Bills Into Law

(COLUMBUS, Ohio)—Ohio Governor Mike DeWine signed the following bills into law:

  • Senate Bill 1, sponsored by Senator Steve Wilson and Senator Rob McColley, relates to teaching financial literacy in high school, provides discretion regarding educational requirements of substitute teachers for the 2021-2022 school year, and declares an emergency.
  • House Bill 176, sponsored by Representative Rick Carfagna and Representative Thomas Hall, revises the law governing the practice of athletic training.
  • House Bill 21, sponsored by Representative Kyle Koehler, increases the annual contribution for the “Donate Life” license plate and requested contributions to the Second Chance Trust Fund and provides additional opportunities for Ohio residents to register as an organ donor.
