A deputy noticed a vehicle leaving an area known for drug activity on Harcourt Road. As the vehicle traveled northbound on Harcourt Road it was observed traveling at an excessive rate of speed. It turned westbound on Old Delaware Road reaching a locked speed on radar of 101 MPH. A traffic stop was attempted but the vehicle continued west on Old Delaware Road, ignoring the flashing lights and siren. After the vehicle entered into Morrow County it finally came to a stop on East Main Street in Sparta. The two occupants were ordered out of the vehicle and placed into handcuffs. The driver, Melvin Fisk, was arrested on an outstanding warrant and is possibly facing more charges for this incident. The passenger, Tessa Akers, was in possession of drug abuse instruments and was issued a summons in lieu of arrest. Fisk was transported to the Knox County Jail. The vehicle was impounded and placed into the Sheriff’s Office impound lot.
