Clintonville Subdivision Sanitary and Storm Sewer Improvements 2021

September 17, 2021 – The City of Mount Vernon announces the start of the sanitary sewer and storm sewer improvements for the areas of Fearn Avenue and Grange Avenue rear yards as well as Pearl Avenue and has entered into a contract with Layton INC. of Newark, Ohio for these replacements. Construction starts on or about September 29th, 2021.

The projects along the rear yards of residents in between Fearn Avenue and Clinton Road and Fearn Avenue and Grange Avenue will replace the current sanitary sewer line with a new line and transition that existing sanitary sewer line into a storm sewer line. The Pearl Avenue project will be a replacement of the sanitary sewer line and an installation of a new storm sewer line. A new sanitary lateral will be replaced from the main line into yards and a tap for the storm lines will be provided. There will be temporary interruptions for sanitary sewer for homeowners while connections are being transitioned to the new lines. When possible, roadways will be open to residential traffic; however, sections may be completely closed during line replacements and installations. The City of Mount Vernon and the Contractor will work to limit these inconveniences. Project completion is dependent upon weather and material availability, once completed there
will be additional phases of work to replace waterlines and other sanitary and storm sewers in the area.

There will be a public meeting held on September 23rd, 2021 at 4:00 PM at the picnic shelter of Faith Lutheran Church on 170 Mansfield Avenue. At the public meeting you can meet the construction contractor and engineering department members to discuss further project details, and get your questions answered.
