September 14
A complainant called to report that they located drug paraphernalia to be collected for disposal. A deputy responded and collected the paraphernalia for disposal. A report was completed for documentation.

A complainant called to report that a deer was caught on the fence, and in distress due to its broken leg. Deputies responded and the animal was dispatched. A deer slip was issued and a report was completed for documentation.

Deputies responded to Coshocton Road for a report of theft. The complainant stated someone broke into one of his storage units. The victim was notified and an investigation is pending.

September 15
A complainant called the Sheriff’s Office to report a theft. A report was taken.

September 16
Deputies went to a residence in Howard Ohio where they made contact with Joshua Elkins. Elkins was arrested on an outstanding warrant and transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.

Deputies arrested Preston Pruitt on outstanding warrants on South Mckenzie Street, Mount Vernon Ohio.

A complainant reported an identity fraud. A report has been completed for documentation.

A deputy was dispatched to West Scott Lane for a male who had made suicidal statements. The deputy responded to the location along with Mount Vernon Medics and contact was made with the subject.

A deputy was dispatched to the area of Cullison Road and Divan Road on an injured deer. The deputy arrived on the scene and dispatched the deer with their office-issued sidearm. The deputy then waited on the scene
with the vehicle until the owner could remove it from the roadway.
