Knox County Sheriff’s Report – Aug 23, 2021

August 19
A complainant called the Knox County Sheriff’s Office to have a vehicle removed from their business that had been there for over a month. Contact was attempted with the registered owner with no success. The vehicle was inventoried and towed from the business pending proof of ownership for the release.

August 20
Deputies received a report of vandalism on Old Mansfield Road. The complainant called to report an unknown vehicle drove through the yard, damaging driveway structures and reflectors. A report was taken for documentation.

A complainant called the Sheriff’s Office to report a fraud. A report was taken.

A complainant called the Knox County Sheriff’s Office to report that a floor jack had been stolen from their property. A report was filed to document the incident.

August 21
Deputies were dispatched to the area of Pipesville Road and Coshocton Road on a private property ATV crash with injury. Deputies arrived on the scene and located the occupants and crash site. Photographs were collected of the crashed vehicle and damage to crops. A male and female were transported to KCH for their injuries. The owner of the property will assess the damage of the bean and corn fields at a later time.

Deputies were dispatched to the 200 block of S. Edgewood Road on a disturbance. During the investigation, both parties were uncooperative and were separated. A report was sent to the prosecutor to review for criminal charges.

August 22
Deputies took a report via phone for domestic violence in the area of Coshocton Road. The complainant stated on August 21, 2021, he found a female walking on the roadway and appeared to have been assaulted. The complainant drove the female to a hospital in Coshocton County to be treated for injuries. The complainant then called today to report the incident. Investigation pending.

A complaint called the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and advised that they had a student that was threatening to harm themselves. Contact was made with the student and they were taken to Knox Community Hospital for a mental health evaluation.

Deputies were dispatched to a business in Mount Vernon on a suspicious person. Before deputies arrived the Mount Vernon Developmental Center contacted dispatch to advise of a missing person. Dispatch advised The missing female was possibly the same individual. Deputies did identify the female as the missing female from Developmental Center. The female’s probation officer was contacted and advised deputies to return her to the Developmental Center. Before leaving the scene the female was placed in handcuffs and hobbles due to her kicking the doors and windows.
The female was returned to the Developmental Center and turned over to staff.
