Assistant Director of Athletics Communications Position Available

Kenyon College invites applications for the position of Assistant Director of Athletics Communications. This is a full-time, 10-month reporting position with benefits.

Under the general direction of the Director of Athletics Communications, the Assistant is responsible for promoting the College’s twenty-two varsity athletics programs, as well as fitness and recreation programs, through written, verbal and electronic communications. Primary duties include overseeing the upkeep of the Athletics Department’s main social media platforms, as well as the operation of the Kenyon Sports Connection, an online endeavor encompassing live game broadcasts, in-game statistics, coach/student interviews, and occasional feature stories.

The Assistant Director of Athletics Communications will also maintain the College’s athletics website, write press releases and game summaries, compile in-game statistics, and cultivate communication with coaches, administrators, student-athletes and media.

In addition to office hours, the Assistant Director of Athletics Communications will be expected to work evenings and weekends, as required, and will travel to cover Kenyon’s teams when necessary. Other duties may be added with the addition of new technologies and expectations within the field.

A bachelor’s degree is required. Previous experience in a sports information/athletics communications office is preferred. The successful candidate will have demonstrated knowledge in rules and statistics of the sports that Kenyon offers.
