Offenses

June 30
Mount Vernon Fire Department medics were dispatched to an unconscious male who fell down and hit his head. Officers responded to assist. The male was transported to Knox Community Hospital for medical treatment.

July 1
An officer responded to a residence on Wooster Road in reference to a stolen vehicle. The Officer spoke with the victim who stated that she had last seen the vehicle at approximately 10:30 PM on June 30, 2021.

An officer was dispatched to 5 North Gay Street in reference to vandalism on North Gay Street. Upon arrival, the officer spoke to the complainant who stated that there was damage to the window on the west side of the building. A written statement was collected and a report was taken.

An officer was dispatched to Walnut Street for a theft. The suspect is unknown.

An officer has dispatched to Tru Cut on Mount Vernon Avenue to investigate a complaint. A report was taken on the incident.

July 2
An officer responded to East Pleasant Street on a vandalism complaint. A report was filed for the alleged incident.

an officer responded to the area of Lower Gambier road and the Kokosing Gap Trail on a motor vehicle crash. During the investigation, the owner of the vehicle alleged that the vehicle had been stolen and crashed at the location. A stolen vehicle report was completed. The Ohio State Highway Patrol assisted with a traffic crash investigation. The investigation has been forwarded to the detective division for further investigation.

An officer was dispatched to Follin Avenue in reference to a theft.

July 3
An officer responded to Clarence Court on an alleged theft complaint.

An officer responded to a theft complaint on West Burgess Street.

An officer responded to South Jackson Street on an alleged burglary complaint. A report was filed for the incident. Extra patrol was requested for the area.

July 4
An officer responded to West Sugar Street on a breaking and entering complaint. A report was filed for the alleged incident. The suspect is unknown at this time. The investigation has been closed. Extra patrol was requested for the residence.

July 5
Brittany Harris contacted the dispatch center to report that she had located her vehicle and took possession of it. she did not specify when she located it. An officer attempted to contact Brittany to obtain further information but she did not answer their telephone call. The officer left her a detailed message to return their call. The vehicle was removed for L.E.A.D.S.

A female went to the Mount Vernon Police Department in reference to her ex-boyfriend harassing her via text message. The female requested an officer make contact with the male half and advise them to have no further contact with her. The female also reported that she took the male’s belongings to the Mount Vernon Police Impound Lot so that he could pick them up.

July 3

Cathy J. Armstrong was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.

July 4
Sidney M. Cornell was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
Dakota A. Hagans was charged with misuse of 911 system, possession of drugs, obstructing official business, marijuana drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest.
Rachel L. Wright was cited for driving under an FRA suspension.
Elaine K. McCollum was cited for driving under the influence and OVI – at least .08 but less than .1 of alcohol per 210 liters of breath.
Jennifer L. Streiff was cited for operation at a stop sign.
Dakota A. Hagans was cited for driving an unsafe vehicle.
Zachary R. Glaze was cited for failure to re-instate.

July 5
Alexander Adams was cited for failure to yield from private property or alley.
Courtney A. Crowell was cited for operating a motor vehicle without a valid license.
