June 14
Deputies took a phone call from a complainant that wanted a report taken on a stolen catalytic converter. The complainant said that he parks his RV at Triple A Storage in Mount Vernon, Ohio, and when he went to start it today he noticed the exhaust was making a lot of noise. He contacted a mechanic and they advised him to check and make sure the catalytic converter had not been taken. The complainant checked and found that it had been cut out. A report was taken on the theft.

The complainant called the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and advised that someone had abandoned a travel trailer on their property. The owner of the trailer failed to remove it in the allotted time therefore the trailer was towed.

Deputies were dispatched to the area of Tilden Avenue and Banning Road on the report of a male that seemed to be stumbling into traffic or trying to get hurt on purpose. The caller also advised that the male appeared to have a “noose” around their neck. The male was located and taken to Knox Community Hospital for a medical evaluation.

A theft of lumber was reported at a sawmill in the Gambier area. The complainant advised about $200 worth of walnut was stolen.

June 15
A deputy made contact with two individuals that were rummaging through a dumpster behind a closed business. During the investigation, narcotic paraphernalia was observed in plain view inside the vehicle. Marijuana paraphernalia and drug paraphernalia were located. Lindsey Joseph was issued two summons for the violations. Lindsey and the male she was with, Michael Butcher, were warned on criminal trespassing.
