May 6
Dispatch advised deputies of a disabled vehicle on Cassell Road near Beckley Road. Upon identifying the driver, Calvin D. Bethea, it was determined that he had a warrant for his arrest.

A complainant reported a dead-on-arrival call. Deputies responded and the decedent was transported by the funeral home. A report was completed for documentation.

A deputy spoke to a complainant by telephone. The complainant advised that she had a package taken from her porch on May 6, 2021.

A complaint called to report someone sliced the black molding around the door frame in her car. A report has been done for documentation.

Deputies were dispatched to storage units on Pittsburgh Avenue in Mount Vernon, Ohio on an inactive burglary. Deputies arrived on the scene and collected photographic evidence and statements. Deputies cleared the scene and went to the victim’s residence. The victim advised she would check her storage unit and report any stolen belongings. The storage unit was broken into shortly after 12:00 am and the theft was reported at 5:01 am.

May 7
A deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in Mount Vernon for moving violations. The vehicle owner was also a possible suspect of a theft that occurred in Danville. The driver and the passenger appeared to be under the influence of drugs. After they were asked to step out of the vehicle drug paraphernalia was observed inside the vehicle. The driver, Corey Woods, failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for OVI. The passenger was a runaway juvenile from Mount Vernon and he was also arrested.
