May 3
A phone call was transferred to Deputies from dispatch with the complainant wanting to file a report for identity theft. The complainant said she was notified by Huntington Bank that a checking account had been opened in
her name with her Social Security number. They were advised by the bank to file a report.  A report was taken and advice was given on how to start monitoring their credit.

A complainant called the Knox County Sheriff’s Office to file a report about a post that was made on social media. The complainant believed that the post may be in violation of a protection order that has been filed.

May 4
A deputy initiated a traffic stop on Parrott Street near Columbus Road due to loud exhaust. During the traffic stop, the deputy noticed a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from inside the vehicle. Standard Field Sobriety Test’s were then conducted and the driver, Lesley W. Betz, was placed under arrest for OVI. Drug Paraphernalia was also located inside the vehicle during the inventory search.
