Shaw in Custody After Armed Robbery

On March 17, 2021 at approximately 9:39 a.m., officers from the Mount Vernon Police Department responded to the CES Credit Union, 400 West Chestnut Street, Mount Vernon, in reference to an armed robbery. While enroute to the scene, officers were advised by dispatch that the male suspect had left the bank wearing a yellow t-shirt and black mask. They were further advised that the suspect had a firearm and had taken a large amount of money.
Upon arrival in the area, officers were directed by a witness to a male subject, who was identified as the suspect that robbed the Credit Union. He was later identified as Jerad L. Shaw, age 39, of Mount Vernon.
Officers were able to take Shaw into custody without incident. During a search of Shaw’s person, an airsoft pistol was recovered as well as a large amount of money and a black mask.
Jerad Shaw was transported to the Knox County Jail, and he is being held on charges of aggravated robbery.
