Jacobs Found Guilty on Drug Charge

After a one-day trial and a few hours of deliberation, a Knox County jury found Joshua Jacobs, 36, of Mount Vernon, guilty of aggravated possession of drugs, a felony of the third degree. The case arose from a police call where Jacobs and another man were found asleep in a vehicle on West High Street in July 2019. He was found to be in possession of a bulk amount of methamphetamine.

Judge Wetzel ordered a pre-sentence investigation and set sentencing for September 24. Jacobs faces a prison sentence of 9 to 36 months on the charge.

The case was investigated by MVPD Ptl. Nick Myrda and Sgt. Travis Tharp, and presented at trial by Prosecutor McConville and Assistant Prosecutor Nicole Derr.
