Deputies were dispatched to Johnson Avenue in Mount Vernon on an active burglary and possible domestic violence incident. Deputies arrived on the scene and could hear a male yelling upstairs. The Deputies knocked and made contact with the female victim. The female advised that the male had left and she gave the deputies permission to clear the residence. While clearing the residence deputies located the male suspect in an upstairs bedroom closet. The male, Joshua Beeman of Mount Vernon, refused to exit the closet and fought with deputies. Beeman was restrained on the floor of the downstairs entryway. EMS was contacted and medically check him. Beeman was transported to the Knox County Jail on August 18th, 2020.

A victim reported that she had given her social security number over the phone. A report was taken for documentation on August 17th, 2020.

Jessie Schorr, of Mount Vernon, was arrested on an outstanding warrant on August 17th, 2020.

A victim reported that she was threatened and was afraid to go back to her house. She also advised that Kevin Curtis, of Mount Vernon, had broken into her room that had a lock on it and was unsure if anything was missing or destroyed. Curtis was arrested for aggravated menacing and transported to the Knox County Jail on August 17th, 2020.
