Interchurch Social Services of Knox County has provided the following update:

All offices of Interchurch Social Services continue to take precautions to minimize risks for staff, volunteers and clients. As ISS works with minimal staffing, they are also making some changes in the hours that they are are open. Effective the week of March 23, until further notice, hours for each office are as follows:
Centerburg Interchurch Social Services, Tuesday – Friday, 9:00 am – 2:00 pm; Danville, Monday – Thursday, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm; Interchurch, Fredericktown OH Monday – Thursday, 11:00 am – 4:00 pm; and Mount Vernon, Monday – Thursday, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. This will allow time to restock and clean facilities and equipment.

Interchurch Social Services will continue to offer Food Pantry Assistance and Emergency Financial Aid by appointment only. Please call your local office to determine eligibility and to schedule appointments. Food Pantry Assistance will use a pre-packed format available for pick-up at the scheduled time.

All Thrift Stores are closed until further notice. ISS will not accept any donations during that time.

The Salvation Army of Mount Vernon OH has provided the following update:

The Salvation Army continues to proceed in these uncertain days with an abundance of caution and will also continue to serve our community through our food pantry and any other emergency services as they are able and called upon to do so.

The building is closed to the public for the safety of everyone.
Only essential employees and volunteers are currently working in our building.
All programming and group meetings are suspended
The church will livestream Sunday services and continue to worship together in this way.
Hot meals will continue to be ‘to go’ meals.
Learning Zone remains closed.
Other emergency services will be provided as the need may arise.
Food Pantry:
o Monday, Wednesday and Friday
o 9 AM-Noon and 1-3 PM
Please call the office – 740-392-8716 with name, address, number in family and pick up time. Boxes will be distributed boxes right out of the gym door.
Emergency need appointments will be done over the phone during the appointed time
Salvation Army is able to feed the hungry, deliver meals and provide phone visits to those in need.
These services are open to all who are in need.
