Weekend Activity: Build Nest Boxes for Wildlife

Nesting time is an anxious time for critters and wildlife watchers alike. One way to take advantage of free time which will help make the nesting season more successful for birds is by providing suitable nesting boxes and, in some cases, nesting material. Nest boxes (also referred to as artificial cavities) should be erected no later than mid-March. Don’t get discouraged if wildlife doesn’t take to the next boxes right away. Keep in mind that some wildlife prefer boxes that are “seasoned” or weathered, so it might be next year before your nest box is used. Learn more about attracting wildlife to your backyard: http://ow.ly/NL5t307yNST
