We are so grateful for the support and trust of the Mount Vernon community. The combined emergency property tax levy is critical to the continued success of Mount Vernon City Schools as it makes up nearly 16% of our annual budget. With your support, we have been able to renew four (4) existing operating levies by combining them to improve operational efficiency while not increasing taxes. We appreciate the parent and community support we received during this campaign.
We are pleased to welcome Tim Workman as our newly elected school board member. Tim has been a lifelong Mount Vernon resident who graduated from Mount Vernon High School. Tim and his wife, Patty, have two children who also graduated from Mount Vernon High School.
We are also excited to announce that Dr. Marguerite Bennett and Mrs. Jody Goetzman will be returning to the board to continue their outstanding board service to the students, staff, and community of Mount Vernon.
