The Mount Vernon Municipal Court Supervised Community Service Program had over 50 volunteers for this year’s Kokosing River Cleanup. The annual event is organized by Knox County Litter Prevention and Recycling. The Municipal Court cleaned 2.4 miles from the Mount Vernon Ave. bridge to the Lower Gambier Rd. Canoe Access. The Court Team was joined by volunteers from Riverside Recovery Services, Mount Vernon Police Dept., Knox County Sheriff’s Office and the Freedom Center. Special thank yous to the Sheriff for the use of the ATV and trailer, Randy Wilson, Mgr. at Advantage AG, 1025 Harcourt Rd., Mount Vernon, for the use an ATV and Mortellaro McDonalds for providing breakfast sandwiches and coffee for the Court volunteers.
