Second Annual Barktoberfest

Calling all K-9 owners, grab your dogs and head to the Bark Park for the 2nd Annual BarktoberFest. This event will feature a Dog Costume Contest, Tails to Trails Dog Walk in the Park, Tricks and Treats Session, Bark in the Park Pet Photos and various demonstrations. Various “dog-related” vendors will be featured.  Treat your dog to a doggy bag by tagging your dog at one of our County Parks now through October 3 on Instagram, simply use the hashtag #knoxcountyparksbarktoberfest19 We will also choose random photos to highlight as well.  Each dog who is pictured and attends the event will receive a “doggy” bag compliments of the Knox County Park District. Please remember the Mount Vernon City Parks are not part of our County Park District. To view a list of the County Parks, view them on our website. Don’t forget to sign up to have your dog photographed by Paul Nuzum of Hooves and Paws Photos (a 5×7 photo is also compliments of the Knox County Park District).

Dogs of Knox and the Knox County Animal Shelter will be bringing some dogs to adopt during the event. In support of these two organizations, we are kindly asking for your donation of Milk-Bone Dog Treats or Pedigree Dentastix to be given to the non-profit group Dogs of Knox. Your donation is greatly appreciated as all dogs enjoy “Treats”, especially in October!

To enter your dog in the costume contest, please reserve your space in the doggy parade (see above).  A confirmation email will be sent to you upon registration to enter your dog’s name and breed.  We hope you will consider joining us for this event, it is sure to be dog-gone fun!
