Appeals Court Upholds Remillard Murder Conviction and Sentence

Earlier this week, the Fifth District Court of Appeals rejected the appeal of Kevin Remillard, who was convicted last year of the June 2017 murder of his cousin Nick Remillard in Gambier. Kevin was sentenced to 21 years to life for murder, a gun specification and tampering with evidence.

In a 30-page opinion, the Court of Appeals overruled assignments of error concerning search and seizure, consecutive sentencing, jury instructions, and ineffective assistance of counsel.

Prosecutor McConville briefed and argued the case before the Court of Appeals. Remillard was represented by Cleveland attorney John Parker.

Remillard, 50, is being held in the Noble Correctional Institution. His first eligibility for parole will occur in 2038.
