Statement from Ohio AG Dave Yost on President Trump’s Executive Order on Transparency in Healthcare

(COLUMBUS, Ohio) — Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost Monday issued the following statement regarding President Donald Trump’s executive order on improving price and quality transparency in healthcare:

“We shop for hamburgers and cars, but we don’t have the information to shop for healthcare. I applaud the president for demanding more transparency in healthcare. His call for lifting the veil on pricing – and making sure we all know the true cost of the medical care and prescription drugs we consume – is long overdue. We’ve been working on this issue in Ohio for the past two years under the belief that transparency will drive prices down for consumers. Today’s executive order pairs nicely with our efforts and those of Gov. DeWine.”
