Teenager Still Missing From Honey Run – Crews Frustrated and Disappointed

A 15-year-old boy remains missing after crews have completed a third day of searching the Kokosing River for Darnal Narayan of Columbus. He disappeared while wading and swimming in the Kokosing River on Tuesday afternoon near Honey Run Park. First responders launched a large scale effort using boats, divers, sonar, and K9 units, in an attempt to locate the victim.

The area where the victim was last observed contains a very large tree that is partially submerged. Underwater rock formations, crevices, low visibility, and river currents in the area make it a dangerous environment for divers. Crews are frustrated and disappointed that they have not been able to bring closure to the victim’s family.

Continued, organized recovery efforts are not planned until further evidence is discovered.  Personnel from Eastern Knox County Joint Fire District, Fredericktown Fire Department, Fredericktown Emergency Medical Services, Walhonding Valley Fire District, Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Dellroy Community Fire Department, Licking County Sheriff’s Office, and Christian Aid Ministries Search and Rescue, have contributed in the search efforts.
