Friends of the Library Presents “Stories of a Christmas Past”

Friends of the Library members and the public are invited to enjoy the holiday season at “Stories from a Christmas Past,” an evening of stories, holiday music, and food at the Friends annual meeting on Wednesday, December 12, 6:30 pm. The program will be held at the Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County, 201 N. Mulberry Street, Mount Vernon.

Artistic Director Bette Lou Higgins of Eden Valley Enterprises will share history and stories about the holiday season including a local surprise or two.  Mike and Chris Petee will share holiday music and songs to complement the stories. Previously, Higgins brought her Emmy-nominated documentary film “Trail Magic: The Grandma Gatewood Story” on the life of Emma Gatewood and the Appalachian trail to Mount Vernon to the delight of a full house.

The program free to the public. A brief meeting for the elections of FOL officers will be held before the performance.
Holiday refreshments will be served. For more information, call the main library at 740-392-2665 (BOOK), contact Linette Porter-Metler, PLMVKC Community Relations & FOL Library Liaison at 740-501-0080, visit www.knox.net or email communityrelations@knox.net.
