Annual Friends of the Library Christmas Stocking Silent Auction

The Friends of the Library Christmas Stocking Silent Auction is open for bids through the end of the Friends Annual Program, “Stories from a Christmas Past,”  on Wednesday, December 12, at the Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County, 201 N. Mulberry Street, Mount Vernon.

All  21 stockings are on display on the first floor of the main library. Stockings are numbered for bidding.

Some of the goodies available in the stockings include: A $50 Lowe’s lighted Christmas wreath, copy of Fairytale Christmas, free oil change certificates from Monroe Muffler, Taco Bell gift certificates, an OSU Buckeye package (includes OSU blanket, OSU Brutus brick doorstop, autographed OSU book), Marco’s Pizza certificates, Wendy’s certificates, Coffee Island certificates, free 3-month membership to Anytime Fitness ($191 value), a silver coin donated by Knox Coin Exchange, a signed Brad Thor novel, House of Cards (DVD), a floor jack from Autozone, Lannings gift card, Bob Evans candles, a Fiesta Mexicana gift certificate, two lifetime memberships to Friends of the Library ($75 value each), Pirates Cove gift certificate, “Princess Pig” by Eileen Spinelli autographed by Illustrator Tim Bowers, gift card to Dean’s Jewelers, handmade stocking from Down Home Leather, Donnely Ford gift and car accents, a manicure at Nails by An, an Ichiban gift certificate, Shoe Sensations gift card, Debbie Macomber Christmas novels,  Family Video gift cards, Shoe Carnival gift certificate, China Buffet gift certicate, “A Day in Gambier” package (Kenyon Inn lunch for two, Weathervane and Village Inn gift certificates),  handmade knit stocking from Susan’s Boutique filled with gifts from the Makery, Staple’s stereo headset, Starbrite gift certificate, and miscellaneous books.

All proceeds will benefit the Friends of the Library to support public library programs in Mount Vernon, Danville, Fredericktown, and Gambier.
