Patrol Motor Carrier Inspector Receives National Recognition

COLUMBUS – Ohio State Highway Patrol Motor Carrier Enforcement Inspector Supervisor (MCES) Brian K. Wilson, Cleveland District, along with his team finished first place during the inspection competition. The Team Award was given to the team with the highest combined score.

The 2018 Annual Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance, North American Inspectors Championships, recognizing and awarding commercial vehicle inspector excellence was held in Columbus last week.

Teams comprised of motor carrier inspectors from across North America competed in timed events which included level one inspection, level one inspection procedures, hazardous materials/dangerous goods inspection, cargo tank/other bulk packaging inspections, level five passenger carrier vehicle (Motorcoach) inspection and out-of-service criteria exam.

The Team Award members consisted of MCES Brian Wilson and participants from British of Columbia, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, Texas, Utah, Vermont, and Washington. In addition to the competitive events, each inspector received training on the latest safety information, technology, standards and inspection procedures while sharing ideas, techniques, and experiences with other inspectors.
