A Fawn’s First Days

Most white-tailed deer fawns in Ohio are born in May and June, with some being born as late as July. The next generation of deer are born and raised when resources are the most abundant for the female and her growing offspring. A deer fawn comes into the world with all the abilities it needs to become an expert in survival. It hides in plain sight, grows strong in a remarkably short time, and lies completely still for hours.
