NIH Announces Awards for BRAIN Initiative Neuroethics Research

Grants aim to address neuroethical issues associated with human brain research.

As scientists develop powerful neurotechnologies to monitor and regulate brain activity, ethical questions arise about how these new tools should be incorporated into medical research and clinical practice. To inform this discussion, the National Institutes of Health has awarded grants to five teams of experts who will study the neuroethical issues surrounding the use of deep brain stimulation in neuropsychiatric and movement disorders and appropriate consent for brain research.Read full story

Troopers Seize 58 Pounds of Marijuana in Erie County Traffic Stop

MILAN – Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers filed felony drug charges against two California men after a traffic stop in Erie County. During the traffic stop, troopers seized 58 pounds of marijuana, which is valued at approximately $135,430.  

On October 27, 2017 at 11:10 a.m., troopers stopped a 2013 Cadillac with California registration for a following too close violation on Interstate 80 near milepost 121.
