Sheriff’s Office Receives CounterDrug Assistance

As a participating member of the Central Ohio Drug Enforcement Task Force, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office has been assigned a criminal intelligence analyst. The analyst is a member of the Ohio National Guard Counterdrug Task Force and will be assigned to provide informational support to deputies. His duties will include recognizing patterns and connecting criminal behavior by searching databases and linking potential suspects. He will also be able to prepare drug intelligence briefings for county law enforcement officers.

The sheriff’s office is only responsible for providing working space and computer equipment. By assisting in research and case preparation this will enable detectives to improve their effectiveness, make efficient use of their resources, and dedicate more time to enforcement activities.
