The Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County Holiday Open House December 15th

Just in case you missed one of the free sewing programs this year, a special Holiday Open House featuring “Sewing with Lisa” and “Digital Greeting Cards” will be held on Thursday, December 15, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County, 201 N. Mulberry Street.

 

“Sewing with Lisa” will feature a collection of all the sewing projects made in the program throughout the past year. Participants are invited to sew something new and take it home. Learn new techniques, share ideas and skills and create something to use, wear, or make for the home.

 

In addition, the “Digital Greeting Cards” program will help those interested in creating and sending digital greeting cards to family and friends. Participants can bring a list of email addresses and spread some holiday cheer.

 

Laptop computers, sewing machines, ribbon and other basic sewing items will be provided. Those who would like to participate in the sewing class will need to pick a project or two and bring materials needed as follows:
Aprons- two or three tea towels
Bookmarks- All materials provided
Reversible Table Runner- 2 pieces of material (1/2 yard each)
Tote Bag- 1/2 yard of material
Plastic Bag Holder- 1/2 yard of material
Mug Rug or Mug Cozy- 1/4 yard of material
Pocket Pillow Covers- 1/2 yard of material (per pillow) and a pillow
Infinity Scarf- 1/2 yard of material
Heart Pillow- 1/2 yard of material
Stockings- 1/2 yard of material

Both programs are free and open to all ages. Refreshments will be provided.
