 Christmas Walk: 1-5pm

Each year, on the Saturday following Thanksgiving, people of all ages line the streets of downtown Mount Vernon for our traditional Christmas Walk & Parade.  The smell of roasted nuts and cinnamon fills the air, children enjoy train and carousel rides, families get photos with Santa, and mom and dad shop for those one-of-a-kind holiday gifts.  It’s a heartwarming time of celebration and community, brought together amidst the wonderful backdrop of beautiful, historic downtown Mount Vernon.  Several activities benefit Food for the Hungry.  The evening will end with the lighting of the greens on Public Square.

Christmas Parade: 2:30pm

Organized by the Mount Vernon News, the parade features a new theme each year.  This year’s theme is “Comic Strip Christmas.”  From classic cars and equestrians, to marching bands and local civic groups, everyone loves to watch the parade.  And we can’t forget the official appearance of . . . Santa Claus!
