Author Cathy Rudolph to Visit Historical Society Museum

One of the best books about Mount Vernon’s own Paul Lynde has been written by his longtime friend and author, Cathy Fitzgibbon-Rudolph. On Monday, September 26th, Cathy will be in Ohio and arrangements have been made for her to visit the Knox County Historical Society Museum from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. to see our large collection of Lynde memorabilia and to visit with any area fans to share stories about her years of friendship with the star of Hollywood Squares, Bye, Bye Birdie, Bewitched, and many other well-known productions.
As a teenager, Cathy became a major fan of the actor and comedian and after finding a listing for his business phone, she got up the courage to call and was stunned when Paul himself answered the phone. She persuaded him to meet her in New York City and soon they became fast friends. Over many years she accompanied him to Broadway plays, dinners, and similar events. More recently she published her account of their friendship in the book, Paul Lynde-A Biography: His Life, His Loves, His Laughter.
The Museum is located at 875 Harcourt Road, in Mount Vernon. Monday’s afternoon event is free and open to the public, and all Paul Lynde fans are invited to attend.
