Offenses

September 14
An officer was patrolling the area of North Mechanic Street and West Chestnut Street and observed Thomas B. Ward walking. The officer had prior information that Thomas had a warrant out of Knox County. The officer made contact with Thomas and advised him of the warrant. Thomas was secured in handcuffs, in the front position, gapped appropriately and double locked. Thomas was searched and transported to the Knox County Jail where he was incarcerated. Nothing further.

An officer was dispatched to the 600 block of East Gambier Street for vandalism on a sidewalk. A report was taken.

An officer was dispatched to Cougar Drive on an assault. A report was taken. Nothing further at this time.

September 15
A female contacted the Mount Vernon Police Department in reference to a fraud complaint. The complainant stated that her bank card was lost on 9/14/22 and there were 4 unauthorized charges on her account. After further investigation, Lashonda Pflieger was charged with misuse of credit cards. Nothing further to report.

An officer was dispatched to a threats call on Follin Avenue. After investigation, the officer issued charges for aggravated menacing for Eligerr Jamal La Shon Mosby III.

An officer responded to Follin Avenue in reference to a possible burglary. A report was taken. Nothing further at this time.

an officer was dispatched to Pleasant Street Elementary for a female throwing a white powder/chunks around the courtyard and back dumpster of the school. The officer tested the items for a couple of different drugs and they were negative. An investigation is pending the identification of the female.

Officers responded to a possible burglary in progress complaint. A male individual was arrested and transported to the Knox County Jail.

September 16
A female who lives on Prospect Street came to the Mount Vernon Police Department to report that she is being harassed by her boyfriend’s ex by telecommunications. A report ws file. The report was forwarded to the City Law Director for review.

Officers responded to a female, later identified as Molley Shelley, attempting to get into a residence on West Vine Street. Molley was charged with criminal trespassing and theft. She was issued a summons and released. A report was filed.

A female who lives on Beech Street reported fraud. No suspects at this time. A report was filed.

September 17
While patrolling the area of South Main Street, one male suspect was found trespassing on city property after hours. A summons in lieu of arrest was issued for criminal trespassing.

An officer responded to a theft call in the area of Marcia Drive. A report was taken regarding the theft. Unrelated to the theft, a male was arrested on an active warrant and transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.

Michael T. Moore was cited for DUS – all other suspensions.
Emily A. Bricker was cited for wrongful entrustment.

September 16
Gary L. Schmitt was cited for 25mph except State Route outside business districts and alleys.
Nicole L. Mitchell was cited for DUS- FRA & random verification suspension.
Travis E. Myers was cited for Speed Limit – 20mph School Zone.
Jason D. Archer was cited for Speed Limit – 20mph School Zone.
Susan F. Horn was cited for Speed Limit – 20mph School Zone.
Charles Comfort was cited for drive onto road/duty to yield.
Jean Paul Carter was cited for obey traffic control devices.
Van L. Livingston was cited for starting and backing vehicles.
Nahamiah S. Smith was cited for right of way when turning left.

September 17
Salem K. Hamilton was cited for expired or unlawful license plates.
James W. Stickle was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.

September 18
Darlene S. Cross was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
Grant C. Bradford was cited for operation at a stop sign.
