The MVNU Music Department is pleased to introduce Mr. Chuck Dettmar as our new jazz band director. Mr. Dettmar comes to us with over 37 years of Jazz Ensemble experience.
As a saxophone major, he holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, PA., and has completed graduate work at both the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where he studied drum set with Marc Dicciani and jazz improvisation with Dennis DiBlasio of the Maynard Ferguson Band. Currently, he is the lead alto sax for the Knox Community Jazz Orchestra and directs the Centerburg HS Jazz Band.
He is very excited to be joining our team, and already has a great roster of talent lined up in our jazz program.
