The Knox County Sheriff’s Office is providing an update to an incident that occurred on Zuck Rd. in Butler Township on Monday, August 22nd at approximately 8:31 p.m. Deputies received a call of a female that was attempting to force her way into a residence. When officers arrived they discovered the female had entered the house. She refused commands to come outside and at one point the suspect broke a window and pointed a shotgun toward the officers.
The suspect then fired multiple times before a deputy fired a single shot striking the suspect. The 41-year-old female was transported by squad to Knox Community Hospital where she died. The Suspect has been identified as Elizabeth A Delano. She had previously lived at the residence but had not resided there in several weeks.
The independent investigation that is being conducted by the Ohio Bureau of Investigation is ongoing.
