August 5
Knox County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to an address on Highland Drive in Fredericktown, Ohio on the report of a possible drug overdose involving over-the-counter medication involving a juvenile. Before deputies arrived, the juvenile fled the residence on foot. A subsequent search of the area located the juvenile and the juvenile was transported to Knox Community Hospital for further evaluation. A copy of this report will be forwarded to the Knox County Juvenile Prosecution for review of possible criminal charges due to the behavior of the juvenile.

A deputy was dispatched to the Kenyon College safety office on found drug paraphernalia. Campus safety stated they found the paraphernalia on Chase Ave. The deputy collected the paraphernalia and placed it in evidence for destruction. Nothing further at this time.

Deputies made contact with a male with an outstanding warrant at his residence on West Main Street Centerburg Ohio 43011. The male was placed under arrest and transported to the Knox County Jail and released to the custody of jail staff.

August 6
The Mount Vernon Police Department requested the assistance of the Sheriff’s Office to serve an active warrant for Austin Schnars on Columbus Road Mount Vernon Ohio. Austin was located inside the residence after a consent search was conducted. Austin was transported to the Knox County Jail.

A complainant contacted Knox County Sheriff’s Office regarding theft of golf carts. A deputy made contact with the complainant and a report was taken.

A complainant contacted Knox County regarding a burglary. A deputy made contact with the complainant and a report was taken.

A complainant called the Knox County Sheriff’s Office to report that someone had left a residence on Hopewell Road (Gambier OH) making suicidal comments. The person was located by a Mount Vernon Police Officer who was able to contact a peer support person for the person who had made the comments.

August 7
Deputies were dispatched to Columbus Road in reference to a mental health complaint. After the investigation on the complaint was concluded, a male individual was voluntarily transported to Knox Community Hospital for an evaluation.
