JUNE 30 – Mark Jordan – Mark Jordan, playwright and published author, shares his research on murders and ghost stories that occurred in the Knox County area as well as interesting stories that brings life to the history of this area.
JULY 28 – Shirley Temple Black (Tammy Souhrada) – You might remember the sweet little blonde curled actress, who was the number one drawing box-office draw from 1934-1938, but Shirley Temple went on to be named United States ambassador to Ghana and Czechoslovakia and also served as Chief of Protocol of the United States. A fascinating life and a fascinating evening is guaranteed.
AUGUST 25 – Roy Rogers & Dale Evans (Jim & Amy Stoner) Rogers and Evans starred in eight films together. Fans fell in love with the couple and couldn’t get enough of their chemistry. Rogers riding his horse Trigger and Evans riding her horse Buttermilk made the perfect team on and off the screen.
SEPTEMBER 29 –The Women Spies World War II (Chris Petee) learn the fascinating stories of women who braved their lives in order to obtain information vital to overcoming The Nazi’s and whose stories are rarely told.
OCTOBER 27 – James Garfield and the United States Government* (Benjamin Frayser) * denotes a program which can be made to be appropriate for children/young adults studying American History, Citizenship, or Government. Serving two years in the state legislature, 18 more in Congress, a Senator-elect, and President; makes for a remarkable resume to explain how, and why, the government of the United States works as it does.
NOVEMBER 17 – Jane Austen (Raylene Hvality)Jane Austen was an English novelist known primarily for her six major novels, which interpret, critique and comment upon the British landed gentry at the end of the 18th century.
