Trail Apalooza June 25th

Walk, Bike, or Roll and join Knox, Licking, Delaware County in celebrating the grand opening of the last paved portion of the the Ohio to Erie trail connecting the three counties on June 25th. Enjoy miles of fun with planned activities in Knox and Delaware counties.
A ribbon cutting ceremony will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the Newell Recreation Preserve to recognize the completed trail extension. Activities will take place at the Midway Welcome Station of the Ohio to Erie Trail in Centerburg from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Kids bicycle safety demonstrations and rides will take place on each hour from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. For more information on the Heart of Ohio Trail Board’s activities, visit their website at www.heartofohiotrail.com/events
Knox Area Transit will be offering rides from Mount Vernon to Centerburg. Bikers can board the shuttle at the CA&C depot in Mount Vernon and be dropped off at Memorial Park in Centerburg. Rides will also be from Centerburg to Mount Vernon. The service will be offered at 10, 11, 12 and 1 p.m.
Food Trucks, music and giveaways will be featured from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the CA&C Visitors Center, 501 S. Main Street, Mount Vernon. The Knox County Park District will provide an informational table with maps, brochures and rack cards. The Knox County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau and City of Mount Vernon will also be represented. Join us on the trail!
