Knox County Sheriff’s Report – May 16, 2022

May 14
Knox County Sheriff’s Office made contact with a subject with a warrant. The subject, Thomas W. Higgins Jr., was then arrested and transported to Knox County Jail without incident.
Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the Village Of Centerburg on the report of someone shooting within the village limits. The person(s) were found and warned about their activity and the consequences if the activity continued. A report was filed to document the incident.
Unit 1 was traveling southbound on Sychar Road when he lost control of the vehicle and struck two mailboxes on the west side of the roadway.
Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of Columbus Road on the report of a theft. Once Deputies arrived and began investigating it was determined that a burglary had occurred. A report was filed and the incident is under investigation.
May 15
Deputies responded to a vandalism call located on W. High Street, Mount Vernon OH. Deputies arrived on the scene, spoke with the complainants, and gathered witness statement forms. Pictures were taken and a report was filed to document the incident. Charges were filed against the offender.
Deputies were dispatched to a Danville residence on a disturbance. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with all parties and was advised that two family members had been shoving one another. One of them was shoved to the ground. Statements were collected, and a report was taken. All will be sent to the City Law Director for review.
Deputies took a fraud call by telephone. The complainant advised that $4555 had been taken from his account and put in another. The complainant advised that if he thought other accounts may be affected to contact his banks and try and secure his accounts. Information was also provided to report fraud to the Attorney General’s Office. A report was taken.
Deputies were dispatched to a Howard residence for an individual having a mental episode. Deputies spoke with the individual and they were voluntarily transported by the deputy to Knox Community Hospital, for an evaluation.
A complainant called and reported that her passport was missing and needed a report for documentation.
