Curtis W. Hull, 38, of Mount Vernon, entered a no-contest plea today in Knox County Common Pleas Court to a six-count indictment. Hull had been charged with driving under a lifetime suspension, fleeing and eluding a police officer, and having weapons under disability, criminal damaging, and two traffic offenses.
The incident took place in November 2020 when Hull fled MVPD Sgt. Rex Young after committing traffic offenses near Sandusky Street. Young pursued Hull into Clinton Township, where Hull crashed his vehicle and fled on foot through the snow. When he was taken into custody, a .45 caliber pistol was found nearby, which later tested positive for Hull’s DNA. Hull’s driver’s license was suspended for life after his 2017 conviction for aggravated vehicular homicide involving a MVHS student on Mansfield Avenue.
Hull will be sentenced on May 19, 2022. He is expected to appeal an earlier suppression motion that was denied by the Court. If sentenced consecutively on the counts, he could face up to 9 years in prison.
