Knox County Sheriff’s Report – Mar 28, 2022

March 25
Deputies were advised by dispatch that a father would like to speak with a deputy by phone concerning threats that were made toward his 12-year-old son. A deputy spoke with the father and mother of the juvenile and a report was generated.

A complainant contacted Knox County Sheriff’s Office regarding a missing phone. A deputy was able to go to the address that was provided and obtained the phone.

A complainant called and reported that an individual attempted to sell a bicycle to them. The complainant advised that they declined to purchase the bicycle but the individual left the bicycle on their porch. A deputy responded and the serial number on the bicycle was checked. The bicycle was collected for safekeeping and a report was completed for documentation.

March 26
Deputies while patrolling their assigned area responded to a call at a location on Zion Road. Deputies arrived on the scene and made contact with the complainant. The complainant called in regards to another household
member who was expressing mental issues. A friend picked up the household member having mental issues, the situation was resolved and the scene was cleared.

Unit 1 was traveling Northbound On Wooster Road North of Leather Row Road at a stated 40mph. Unit 1 crossed the center line and left the left side of the roadway. The vehicle struck a speed limit sign and rolled over onto its top in the ditch.

Deputies were dispatched to Kenyon Campus Safety on a male that threatened to jump off a fourth-floor staircase. Deputies arrived on the scene and made contact with the male. The Deputy transported the male to Knox Community Hospital for evaluation.

Kenyon College Campus safety advised they needed a deputy to respond to their office regarding a suicidal individual. The individual voluntarily allowed a deputy to transport him to the hospital for a mental evaluation.

A Knox County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to stop a vehicle that was violating the posted speed limit. The driver of the vehicle fled and failed to comply with the order or signal of a police officer. The driver of the vehicle, Zachary A. King, ultimately crashed his vehicle and fled on foot. The driver was apprehended by deputies a short time later. The driver was taken to the Knox County Jail without incident.

A victim/complainant called to report that someone attempted to file for unemployment in her name. A deputy spoke with the victim/complainant via telephone and resources and advice were given. A report was completed for documentation.

Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Millersburg Road in reference to a juvenile that was “out of control.” Deputies we spoke with the juvenile and the parents, a report was filed to document the incident and will be sent to the Knox County Juvenile Prosecutors Office for review as requested by the parents.

March 27
A complainant contacted Knox County Dispatch center and advised of a fire on their property. Fire Departments arrived and were able to extinguish the fire.

March 28
Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Crestrose Drive in reference to a female having a mental health crisis. The female was transported by Eastern Knox Joint Fire District to Knox Community Hospital for further evaluation.
