Annual Courtship Ritual of the American Woodcock

Join the Knox County Park District tomorrow evening on March 11, 6:00 p.m. at the Wolf Run Regional Park located at 17621 Yauger Road, Mount Vernon. Local Biologist, Scott Albaugh will lead us in the program. We hope to observe the annual courtship ritual and aerial flight display of the American Woodcock. This chunky-bodied, big-eyed bird can put on quite a show spiraling 300 feet into the air and making twittering sounds as they dive back to the ground. Dress for the weather conditions and wear footwear appropriate for muddy trails.
