GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Quality Technician is responsible for representing the AMG Quality Department on 2nd/3rd shift and maintaining quality standards of automotive products produced. This includes measuring parts using basic metrology tools and techniques, documenting routine Quality verifications, training operators on quality practices/operations, maintaining non-conforming inventory This position will interface with all departments within AMG, our customers and suppliers, including product launch activities(APQP, PPAP prep. Other duties as assigned to promote and support business activities

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Measure and inspect WIP and finished products using gauges, calipers, micrometers, force testing&others metrological equipment. Able to read and interpret drawings, specifications and other customer/internal requirements.

Document measurement results and file completed records

Perform basic maintenance on metrology tools and equipment. Maintain calibration system.

Maintain 5S of assigned areas. Comply with all applicable AMG company requirements.

Represent Quality Department addressing Quality concerns and disposition of product.

Train operators and supervisors on best practices, including developing and distributing Quality Alerts and providing direction on Customer expectations.

Keep accurate records and communication reporting to Quality Engineer and Quality Manager, Escalate concerns to Quality Engineer as appropriate.

Perform audits and support Quality Management System/IATF16949/ISO 14001 initiatives.

EDUCATIONAL & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Understanding of fractions, decimals, unit conversions, Overall strong math and analytical skills
  • Good Problem Solving Skills and familiar with various formats used within the automotive industry
  • Knowledge of metrology equipment use and measurement systems analysis (MSA)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Auditing (Internal Auditor preferred)
