Governor DeWine, Lt. Governor Husted Announce New Projects Expected to Create More Than $117 Million in Investments

(COLUMBUS, Ohio)—Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jon Husted today announced the approval of assistance for six projects set to create 1,937 new jobs and retain 2,597 jobs statewide. During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners. Collectively, the projects are expected to result in more than $104 million in new payroll and spur more than $117 million in investments across Ohio. Projects approved by the TCA include:

NORTHEAST
Alexander Mann Solutions Corporation (AMS), Cleveland (Cuyahoga Co.), expects to create 153 full-time positions, generating $9.3 million in new annual payroll and retaining $11 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in Cleveland. AMS is a global provider of talent acquisition and management solutions. The TCA approved a 1.673 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

ECS Tuning LLC, Wadsworth (Medina Co.), expects to create 98 full-time positions, generating $4.1 million in new annual payroll and retaining $14.9 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in Wadsworth. ECS Tuning supplies OEM parts, aftermarket replacement parts, and performance parts for European cars. The company also develops and distributes its own brand of performance products. The TCA approved a 1.273 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

The Kroger Co., Oakwood (Cuyahoga Co.), expects to create 400 full-time positions, generating $18 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in Oakwood. Kroger is the largest supermarket chain in the U.S. with 35 food manufacturing plants for its Private Selection label and more than 2,800 retail stores. The TCA approved a 1.551 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

NORTHWEST
Brennan-Eberly Team Sports Inc., Swanton Township and Holland (Lucas Co.), expects to create 86 full-time positions, generating $4.1 million in new annual payroll and retaining $4.7 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in Swanton Township and Holland. Brennan-Eberly provides branded athletic apparel, equipment, and uniforms. The TCA approved a 1.358 percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

SOUTHWEST
Total Quality Logistics LLC (TQL), Union Township and Milford (Clermont Co.),
West Chester Township (Butler County), Cincinnati (Hamilton County),
 expects to create 1,000 full-time positions, generating $60 million in new annual payroll and retaining $162.8 million in existing payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in Union Township, Milford, West Chester Township, and Cincinnati. TQL is a freight brokerage firm connecting customers with shipping needs with carriers that have the available capacity and service offerings. The TCA approved a 1.502 percent, nine-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.

CENTRAL
Walgreen Co., Canal Winchester (Franklin Co.), expects to create 200 full-time positions, generating $8.5 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new project in Canal Winchester. Walgreen Co. is a pharmacy retail chain providing access to consumer goods and services, pharmacy, and health and wellness services. The TCA approved a 1.385 percent, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project.
