February 24
A deputy spoke to a complainant at the Knox County Sheriff’s Office. The complainant wanted to talk to someone about his identity being used for utility services that he did not authorize.

February 26
A complainant called to report an underage party. Deputies responded and made contact at the location. Juveniles were located at the residence with numerous open alcohol containers. Their parents were notified
and the juveniles were given over to their parent’s care. A citation was issued to the owner of the residence. A report was completed for the city law director, Juvenile court and for documentation.

A complainant advised the catalytic converter was taken off the vehicle at the incident location.

A complainant advised her truck was stolen out of her driveway. The vehicle was entered into LEADS.

Deputies were dispatched to a non-injury crash on North Clayton Street Centerburg, Ohio 43011. Deputies arrived and began their investigation. The female driver, Anita M. Reesnes, was subsequently arrested for OVI and transported to the Knox Community Hospital to be evaluated. Reesnes was issued a citation for OVI and failure to control and released from the Sheriff’s Office’s custody.

February 25
A complainant contacted Knox County Sheriff’s Office regarding a stolen dirt bike. A deputy made contact with the complainant, a report was taken and the vehicle was entered as stolen.

February 27
A deputy received a call from an individual advising of a possible assault that occurred at a residence on Johnson Avenue in Mount Vernon. The complainant called in stating that his sister was just assaulted
by her boyfriend’s mother and wanted to file a report for possible charges. Contact was made with the complainant and the victim and information was gathered for a report to be written.

Unit 1 was traveling northbound on Vanatta Road when the driver of unit 1 hit a deer. This caused non-functional damage to unit 1.

Deputies were advised of a car fire on Monroe Mills Road. Upon arrival, deputies attempted to put it out with an issued fire extinguisher. The car was fully engulfed until Eastern Knox Joint Fire Department was able to put it out. Deputies did speak with the owner. He advised that the vehicle began to have engine problems and he pulled into a random driveway and parked it. They were able to get a ride and called a tow truck. The driver then came back to the scene unaware that his vehicle had caught fire. Howard St. Garage towed the vehicle. There was damage done to the homeowner’s gate to the driveway from the fire. A report was taken on a car fire.

A complainant called the Knox County Sheriff’s Office to report that their pole barn had been broken into and a 2018 orange and black Polaris Ranger 1000 XP was missing. A report was filed and the Polaris Ranger was listed in LEADS as stolen.
