December 24
Deputies attempted to stop a Dodge Dakota for a traffic violation on North Gay Street. The vehicle fled from the stop and a pursuit was initiated. The vehicle crashed at the intersection of Wooster Road and McGibney Road in Mt. Vernon. The occupants of the vehicle were juveniles and were returned to the custody of their parents. The incident is under further investigation for criminal charges.

December 25
A complainant contacted Knox County Sheriff’s Office regarding a suspicious Juvenile that matched the description of a runaway Juvenile from the Children’s Resource Center located in Mount Vernon. Deputies arrived and located the juvenile, he was then transported back to Children’s Resource Center and released to Mount Vernon Police Department.

Unit 1 was traveling north on Vernonview Drive. Unit 1 failed to stop at the stop sign at Vernonview Drive and Wooster Road. Unit 1 struck the right rear passenger side of Unit 2 who was traveling north on Wooster Road.

Deputies responded to a residence on Johnson Avenue for a domestic violence incident. The involved parties were interviewed and a report was taken. The report will be sent to the City Law Director for review for charges.

December 26
Deputies responded to a residence on Martinsburg Road for an assault involving a firearm. The involved parties were separated and one was transported to Knox Community Hospital due to injuries. A report was taken and two firearms were collected as evidence. Charges are pending further investigation.

A complainant advised she had money stolen from her residence. A report was taken on the complainant’s behalf.
